I’ve jumped on the bandwagon and thought I would take part in the Make 9 challenge this year. Last year I made a total of 79 garments from March to December so it’s not that I doubt I can make 9 garments… What I’m really taking part in this challenge for is to help me keep focused on the garments I really want to make – sometimes I get distracted by the newest pattern release or love a pattern so much I end up making several. Anything above and beyond these 9 will be great but I really want to achieve these core patterns.
I have some fabric in my stash but I haven’t committed to matching anything yet but I am determined to use it before buying anything new.
So, these are the plans:
Charm Patterns – Night and Day Dress
Gertie Sews Jiffy Dresses – I’ve made the boatneck dress (pictured below) from this book but I want to make the other patterns, too!
Charm Patterns: Hepburn Top
Sew Over It Elsie Dress
Sew Over It 40s Wrap Dress
Sew Over It Maisie Dress
Jennifer Lauren Juniper Cardigan
Shrimps inspired black ruffle puff sleeve dress – totally thinking taffeta for this
Charm Patterns Swing Coat
I kicked off the New Year by starting Gertie’s Patreon Swing Coat pattern and, I have to say, I’m already looking forward to making another one! Pictures of the finished garment and a review are coming soon but here’s a sneak peak (I love the combination of coral and tiffany blue).
I’ve already been distracted from the nine — Gertie has just released the Barbie Top pattern on Patreon and it might just be the thing to convert me to wearing separates more often.
