I didn’t think I had too many plans for the month until I started typing up this blog post. Turns out that I have a few projects I would like to tackle this month, starting with a venture into menswear. I’ve made a couple of men’s tees but that’s as far as I’ve got so one of the things I am going to try this month is men’s shirt’s.
Thread Theory Fairfield Button-Up
Simon keeps reminding me that I don’t need any more clothes; and while I’ll never admit that, I’m willing to fill his wardrobe a little, starting with some block staple coloured shirts.
That doesn’t mean I am going to neglect dresses – I still have to tackle Gertie’s last Charm release.
Charm Patterns, Cinch-It Dress
This has been to the copy shop and been sitting here for a couple of weeks but time is limited! Still, I’ll make it this month.
My one experience with shirring months ago didn’t go too well so I’m not sure I’ll even try that version! And as I have typed this, Gertie has released a new Patreon pattern for April so that needs added to the list, too.
Charm Patterns, Skipper Body Suit and Dress
I’m not convinced I’ll have time to make both variations but I’ll definitely be trying the body suit – I love that this pattern is interchangeable with the Barbie, too!
Seamwork Kit Nightgown
I also plan to make a lovely lightweight dressing gown and the Seamwork Kit is a really interesting pattern with unique features. The seasons are changing and so is my loungewear – time to replace the cosy pjs for something a little more lightweight and breezy!
I have a Seamwork membership; I was purchasing so many of their patterns so it made economic sense. For my membership fee I get credits for two patterns from their library per month.
Seamwork Hazel Dress
The second pattern I downloaded last month was the Hazel dress – a pretty drindl skirt style sundress. It looks simple enough – I have the broderie anglaise that I plan to make it out of but I will need to get some lining fabric… or I could just opt for a slip. We’ll see how enthusiastic I feel when the time comes around.
So, that’s the round up of what I plan to make – I am sure, as per usual, there will be a couple of old faithfuls in there.
Have a wonderful Easter break and happy sewing.
