Sew Anonymous Official Sewist

If you’re reading this blog and don’t follow me over on Instagram (@shesewshappiness) I wanted to share some exciting recent news – I have joined the Sew Anonymous Official Sewist team. I am joined by five incredible sewists; Lisa (@bobo_bun), Olivia (@designsbyohm), Nikki (@about_your_dress), Hazel (@hazelandthemachine) and Marcela (@mama.on.a.sew).

Sew Anonymous have launched a blog space on their website and Aimee has such exciting plans for it that I am delighted to have been chosen to be a part of it. I’m honoured for the opportunity to work alongside these incredibly gifted women – do check out their profiles and you’ll see how skilled they are.

There are so many blogs out there that straightforwardly showcase fabrics and feature pictures of sewists in garments made from those fabrics but Sew Anonymous are doing something a little different. Yes, the sewists will be showing off their makes but we’ll be doing a lot more than that. We’ll be talking about of own personal sewing stories and experiences as well as some of the major issues that matter most to us; sustainability, mental health, creativity, and empowerment (and that’s just for starters). We want to start some conversations as well as inspiring you to create beautiful projects.

My first blog post for Sew Anonymous went live on Valentine’s Day and while the subject matter may have been topical, it’s relevance is not limited to one day. If you’d like to read it, you can find it here.

There’s so much amazing content in the works so please do watch this space. Hazel will be featured at the weekend, talking about the steps she is taking towards a more sustainable wardrobe.

You can also follow what we’re up to via the hashtag #sewanonymousofficial.
